Event Calendar for Clear Creek Abbey
May 26th, Trinity Sunday - Year of Faith Plenary Indulgence at Clear Creek.
In accord with the decree of Pope Benedict XVI for the Year of Faith (click here to read the decree; cf. sections B & C), His Excellency The Most Reverend Edward J. Slattery, Bishop of Tulsa, has designated participation at 10 a.m. High Mass at Clear Creek Abbey for this coming Trinity Sunday, May 26th, as an occasion to gain a Plenary Indulgence during the Year of Faith. The faithful who assist at this Mass and fulfill the conditions for the gaining of indulgences (click here for a description of these conditions) will be able to gain this Plenary Indulgence. Also, the faithful who will attend are invited to join in for chanting the Credo (Profession of Faith) during Mass. Everyone is encouraged to attend this special High Mass and gain the Plenary Indulgence either for himself or for the soul of one of the faithful departed. Thank you!
May 13th - Benedictine Sisters of Clear Creek Inauguration
On the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, the Benedictine Sisters of Clear Creek will have the Inauguration of their new Queen of Angels Priory Convent, which uses the old monastery buildings formerly used by the monks before the construction of the monks' new monastery. The Inauguration will begin with Holy Mass at 10:00 am, celebrated by His Excellency, Edward J. Slattery, Bishop of Tulsa, to be followed by an open house and reception. After this, the religious enclosure will be in effect, and contact with the world will be kept to a minimum. For any questions or for prayer requests, please contact the Sisters of Clear Creek through their website, and please remember to pray for the Sisters, who are most definitely praying for you and for all the benefactors who have so generously helped them to arrive at this new stage in their growth. May 12th - Mr. Russell Ford, Apostle to Prisoners, will speak at Clear Creek.
We look forward to hearing the story of Russell Ford, Catholic convert and evangelist, who spent 25 years behind bars in an Alabama prison for a crime he did not commit, as was finally recognized. While he was in prison he learned about and grew in his faith, while catechizing dozens of his fellow prisoners and leading them into the fold of Christ. Russell now spends his time promoting his apostolate to help prisoners and former prisoners find the key to their ultimate liberation: the Catholic faith.

December 13, 2012 - Cardinal Burke celebrated Pontifical Mass at Our Lady of Clear Creek Abbey
Thank you to all those who were able to assist at this event, where His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura in Rome, celebrated Holy Mass pontifically.

Cardinal Burke was previously Bishop of La Crosse, Wisconsin diocese (1994-2003) and then Archbishop of
St. Louis, Missouri archdiocese (2003-2008), where he distinguished himself by his fidelity to the Church's Magisterium and his support of the traditional Latin Liturgy. We were blessed to receive the visit of both this prince
of the Church as well as of our own bishop of Tulsa, His Excellency, the Most Reverend Edward J. Slattery.

Clear Creek Abbey has just completed the first English translation of the French original of Light and Strength, the biography of Mother Cécile Bruyère, spiritual daughter of Dom Prosper Guéranger, abbot of Saint-Pierre of Solesmes, Foundress and first abbess of Sainte-Cécile of Solesmes. Now English speakers can come to know the story of this remarkable contemplative nun whose doctrine and influence continue to guide and give growth to the nuns of the Solesmes Congregation.
